Arken Optics EP-5 Gen II 5–25×56 FFP
The Arken Optics EP-5 Gen II 5–25×56 FFP is an updated version of the popular EP-5 riflescope, designed specifically for long-range shooting, competition use, and demanding hunting. The new Gen II model offers even better image quality, a wider eyebox, and improved user comfort while retaining the familiar First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle and Arken's reliable AZS Zero Stop system.
The riflescope utilizes new Japanese J-XED (Japanese Extremely Extra-Low Dispersion) glass and a redesigned optical structure, which produce an exceptionally sharp, high-contrast, and distortion-free image across the entire field of view.
Optics
The EP-5 Gen II is equipped with high-quality Japanese J-XED glass, which effectively reduces chromatic aberration and preserves fine details even at long shooting distances. The redesigned optical structure minimizes edge distortions and field curvature, providing a consistently sharp image from edge to edge even at high magnifications.
The improved eyepiece structure and 89 mm eye relief make the eyebox more forgiving than before, making it easier to find the sight picture and acquire targets faster in various shooting positions and with strong recoil.
Thanks to the FFP solution, the reticle scales with magnification, so the proportions remain correct at all magnifications. Reticle options include the Variable Precision Reticle (MIL or MOA) and The One Reticle (MIL only).
Adjustments and Zero Stop
The EP-5 Gen II is equipped with precisely functioning adjustment turrets and Arken's AZS Zero Stop system, which allows you to quickly and reliably return to a pre-set zero point after multiple turret rotations.
Parallax adjustment extends from 20 yards (18.3 m) to infinity, enabling precise focusing at both short and extremely long shooting distances.
Durability
The riflescope body is machined from a single piece of 6063 aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring excellent rigidity and durability in demanding use. The EP-5 Gen II has been tested to withstand .50 BMG recoil, and its IP67 rating protects against dust and heavy rain.
Nitrogen purging prevents internal fogging of the lenses during rapid temperature and humidity changes, so the riflescope functions reliably in all weather conditions.
Reticle Options
VPR MIL
Variable Precision Reticle (VPR) MIL is a versatile mil-radian-based reticle suitable for long-range shooting, hunting, and competition use. Clear 0.25 MIL markings allow for precise elevation and windage corrections, as well as fast follow-up shots without adjusting the turrets.
VPR MOA
Variable Precision Reticle (VPR) MOA offers the same features as VPR MIL, but with a Minute of Angle (MOA) scale. It is an excellent choice for shooters who use the MOA system in their ballistic calculations. The clear structure facilitates range estimation and precise impact corrections at all magnifications, thanks to the FFP design.
TOR MIL (The One Reticle)
TOR (The One Reticle) is Arken's new generation competition reticle, designed specifically for PRS, NRL, and long-range precision shooting. The dense 16 MIL holdover grid allows for large elevation corrections without adjusting the turrets, speeding up shooting at varying distances. More precise 0.2 MIL markings and a fine floating center dot facilitate windage corrections and extremely precise aiming at small targets at long distances.
MIL or MOA?
- MIL (Milliradian) is the most common system in long-range shooting, PRS competitions, and official use.
- MOA (Minute of Angle) is an angular unit of measurement favored by hunters and benchrest shooters. It offers very fine adjustments and is widely used, especially in the United States.
